Rozenman Gedali, Rabbi

In April of 1929 the editor of "Dos Naje Lebn", Pejsach Kapłan, published the results of a survey meant to establish who was the most popular representative of the Jewish community in Bialystok. The winner was Rabbi Dr Gedali Rozenman. He had a doctorate and a comprehensive education. He taught in the Hebrew Gymnasium, playing also a significant role in political life. Working with municipalities and provincial, he made sure that Polish-Jewish relations proceeded in a spirit of mutual respect and tolerance. Heinitiated the singing of the Polish national anthem Polish synagogues.
