Grzegorz Smolar was born in 1905 in Zambrów as Hersh Smolar. During World War II he was in Minsk,
where he worked in the ghetto in communist partisans. After the war he returned to Poland and he was a communist
activist. In 1970, he moved to Israel, where he died in 1993. (wikipedia) JK
