The Prince and the Dybbuk
Kategoria: documantary
It's a documantary journey in the footsteps of one of the most fascinating Polish movie makers. Michał Waszyński - in a pre-war Warsaw was the most desired director and a very influencing character of the European and American cinema industry. His own life he turned into ubelivable screenplay.

Mosze Waks - who he really was? A wonder child of cinema, a canny deceiver or maybe a man who continually mixed up a movie illusion with the reality?

Those who knew him personally, will remember him as an aristocrat, a lier, a forever wandering Jew and a homosexual who got married with an Italian countess. A son of a poor blacksmith from Wołyń (Poland). He died in Spain known as a Michele Waszynki - a hollywood producer and Polish aristocrate in exile. He was the one responsilbe for dozens of cinema productions, including many hits with Sophia Loren or Claudia Cardinale. But among those there was only one movie which became his obsession: "Dybbuk". The movie, directed by him, is a mistic drama based on an old Jewish legend.

Years after his death we recognize his unusual and spectacular career. It seems like he accoplished everything he had ever wanted. However, there was one thing that was always bothering him: for years Waszyński was looking for the lost copy of a movie in which he had hidden his biggest secrets.
