Narewka

Narewka - Jewish cemetery
18th-19th century
Narewka z lotu ptaka

Jewish cemetery in Narewka was established in the 19th century. Located a few hundred meters from the village, on a small hill on the left side of the road to Olchówka. In the pine forest on the area of one hectare we can find about 100 to 150 matzevot, most of which are made of stone,  from which the most attention is brought by tombstone from Labradorite, rare stone, originating from the Caucasus. There remained a fragment of the fence, whose construction was completed two weeks before the outbreak of World War II. The cemetery also served as a burial place for Jews from Białowieża.
