There was a brick prayer house at Wojtachowska Street. The grand synagogue was erected in the middle of the 18th century. Next to it, a large wooden synagogue was built at the end of the 19th century. Its construction was similar to other ones existing in the area (in Sidra, Janów Podlaski, Suchowola, Wołpa, Sopoćniki). The gable roof was covered with shingle, around which ran a decorative frieze. During renovations in 1809, separate galleries for women, and vestibule were added. The synagogue burned in 1941 by Germans. Source "Virtual Shtetl". (jt)
