Dąbrowa Białostocka - synagogue
Built in 1874, torn down after WWII
The first mention of Jews in Dąbrowa dates back to the beginning of 18th
century. In 1806 members of the kehilah constituted more than half the inhabitants of the town,
and by the end of 19th century - 85%. Brick synagoge was finished in 1874, built by Rabbi
Menachem Mendel. Destroyed after WWII, it no longer exists. The last Rabbis of Dąbrowa: Mosze
Gerszon Mowszowicz (d. 1932 in Dąbrowa) and Chaim Dawid Katz (d. in Treblinka on 15 December
1942.)
