On 14th July 2017 the representatives of Bialystok Institute of National Remembrance placed flowers at the monument commemorating German mass murderings of Bialystok citizens done 74 years ago in Bacieczki forest. Together with the prist Robert Rafało, a vicar at the local st. Faustyna Kowalska parish, there were prayers spoken for those who died there. 

Bacieczki forest is a place of German crimes conducted in summer 1943. According to witnesses, documents of Armia Krajowa (the Home Army) and the inspection protocol of this site from 1945, the mass shooting took place from the end of June till the beginning of August 1943. There were seven or eight of them. From July 10 - July 15 Germans murdered their captives, mainly Bialystok citizens - the intelligence. The month of July 1943 was a time of severe German terror aimed towards Polish community of Bialystok district.
