New Translation My Childhood Years in the Pyaskes
We invite you to read an English translation of the memoirs of Leybel
Hindes, who grew up in one of Bialystok`s poorest neighbourhoods, Piaski, at the turn of the 20th
century.
His personal recollections are a wonderful complement to three
other biographies written by his contemporaries from Bialystok and nearby
Krynki:
- Memoirs of a Bialystoker Woman by Rachel Kositza (available on Jewish Bialystok and also as a printed book),
- Memoirs and Writings of a Bialystoker by Jacob Jerusalimski (available on Jewish Bialystok),
- As It Happened Yesterday by Yosl Cohen (available on Jewish Bialystok and also as a printed book),
The
