Dear parents and Granny, you shall live and be healthy!

First, I'd like to let you know, that

I'm saved! I cannot write down everything,

but I will tell it, when I visit you, and you will enjoy

my being with you! The „punishment“ of 50 Zloty is just an atonement

for me, because (mind you), the doctor told me,

that I had Typhus, the fever was higher than 40 (degree). Praise God, that the temperature has become normal, again!

I already walk around,

and I will ask the Major, that he should discharge me now, so

that I can come on leave! If he won't do so, I reckon that he will discharge me after Sabbath, because I feel healthy, already, like a new born baby.

They give me the finest food,

each day a little bottle of kefir ___and „white meat“

two times a day for my recovery(?). The staff(?)

are very caring, like mothers! I'm so happy, that I

stayed alive, praise to the Lord! And to Aunt Raeykhel (Rachel),

bless her memory! It shouldn't happen today again,

but when I suffered on high fever, I asked Aunty Rachel

to pray for my health! Please place a memory candle (neshome likht), she is worth it! My dear parents, I really do want you,

not to worry about the 50 Zloties,

because health is more important than money.

When I come to see you, I'd like you to look fine,

and to eat and drink- to do so, we don't need a girl's wedding!

I kiss all of you from a distance, longing very much to see Granny again.

Wolf Wrobel was born in Bialystok, Poland in 1917 to Hershel and Khana. He was a factory owner and married. Prior to WWII he lived in Bialystok, Poland. During the war he was in Bialystok, Poland.
